After the stunning Olympic Opening Ceremony watched on TV last night, I’m returning today to our own mini Olympic Experience, along the Regents Canal on Thursday morning.

This post takes up the story where the previous one left off… with us leaving Granary Wharf and wandering along the towpath towards Camden Town, with the morning rush of speeding bicycle commuters, oh and Ed Miliband & family, who’d also been to the Torch Relay.

Given that Candem Lock attracts millions of visitors a year it’s not surprising that the canal suffers from litter pollution. In this image it looks particularly bad as the wind eddies have gathered it up and concentrated it on certain corners. I hope C&RT will battle as well, if not better, than BW did, in addressing the problem…
