It was on a chilly afternoon last week that we walked off our excellent lunch, at the Great Western Arms, along the towpath past the long term moorings and away from Aynho Wharf on the South Oxford.

The towpath was waterlogged and muddy, the clouds hung low and mistily across fields-become-lakes, there was a stillness about the afternoon, no boats moved, a hanging, dripping kind of silence…

As we walked I took these images of people’s places to stop and stare (see previous post HERE)…

Unused and unnoticed in mid-Winter, I imagine that they must be grand place to watch the boats pass on a Summer evening.
