Since yesterday’s post, I’ve been amazed at the diversity of what might be called ‘artist’s maps’ that are being created as people explore their world.

Here are a few examples that caught my eye:

A tiny detail of a huge drawing of London…

A hand-drawn map of the route of the Lost River ‘Fleet’ erased across a modern street map…


London as a grid of colour…


A different approach, the snippets of text adding a new dimesnion to the map…


The tube system superimposed over a  much earlier map of London…

Oh, and these are a couple of sketchbook ideas of a possible map of my Water Road…

Thinking about ‘layers’ of meaning…


Perhaps moving towards too graphic an approach…
