The Boys and I have been enjoying the last few days of our Boys-Only Fortnight. We’ve been up to Derbyshire and indulging in all things train-ish and tram-ish and had a wonderful time.
Despite the Summer fading, we braved showers and chill wind to explore engine sheds, ride on steam trains and venture up what the Boys called ‘mountains’.
Over the coming days there’ll be posts on Peak Rail and the Midland Railway Centre, not to mention a scramble over a Dragon’s Back and thistle revenge at Arbor Low.
This set of photos were taken on a particularly damp and chill Sunday morning aboard the steam-hauled passenger train from Rowsley to Matlock.
