As 2014 draws to a close, and the festive season looms, I’ve decided to take a two week break from writing posts. This’ll be my last before the new year.

This winter scene of Riber Castle, Matlock, published at the turn of the twentieth century by C. Colledge, Stationer, Matlock seems an appropriate image with which to round off my blogging year, as it touches on some of the themes that have dominated posts in 2014.

Many thanks to readers old and new for your indulgence over the year, and sticking with me through some of my more esoteric ramblings; your company on the journey remains much appreciated.

I hope you have a great holiday, best wishes, and hopefully see you in 2015…
