I’m back around the Urban Pond. In the last few days the frog spawn has enveloped the few swords of reeds that remain in the centre of the pond.

And, timelessly, excited children have been fishing out small samples to oggle in their classrooms. After the early flowering Snowdrops and Daffodilsthe Comfrey’s in bloom as are the tiny blue flowers of Bird’s Eye Alkanet. It’s a time of new beginnings.

“In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” Margaret Atwood

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
